Baseball wraps up series vs. GCC

Niagara County Community College knocked off host Genesee Community College in a rain-soaked Region III contest on Sunday afternoon. Game two of the doubleheader was cancelled due to weather. The Thunderwolves, ranked No. 5 in the latest NJCAA Div. III poll, improved to 35-5 overall and 21-3 in regional contests. 

NCCC sophomore Kyle Finn didn't allow an earned run and struck out eight in five innings of work. The righty improved to 4-1 on the season.

Sophomore catcher Nicholas Castellana was 2-for-3 with two RBIs, freshman Matthew Procopio had two hits and two RBIs and sophomore Mitchell Holtz went 1-for-2 with two RBIs. Sophomore Alex Minnehan and freshman Andrew Stillinger each finished 2-for-3 and scored twice in the win.

The T-Wolves wrap up the regular season at 2 p.m. Tuesday with a road twinbill at Jamestown Community College.
