Lakers Fall to Genesee in Road Matchup, 103-67

BATAVIA, N.Y. – The Finger Lakes Community College men's basketball team struggled to contain a high-powered Genesee offense, falling 103-67 in Wednesday night's road matchup.

Anthony Torres (Geneva, N.Y./Geneva) led the Lakers with 22 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists, providing a steady offensive presence. Kellen Foster (Newark, N.Y./Newark) added 15 points, knocking down 3 three-pointers, while Jace Brown (Red Creek, N.Y./Red Creek) contributed 10 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists.

Despite their efforts, Finger Lakes couldn't keep pace with Genesee, shooting 36% from the field and 25.0% from three-point range. The Lakers struggled to get second-chance opportunities, finishing with just 11 offensive rebounds, while Genesee controlled the glass.

Off the bench, Dezmen Bell (Lyons, N.Y./Lyons) provided an efficient spark, scoring 5 points on 2-2 shooting, and Bruce Wilder Jr. (Rochester, N.Y./Fairport) added 4 points and 5 rebounds. Brian Whitley (Geneva, N.Y./Geneva) led the team in rebounding with 9 boards, but Genesee's balanced scoring attack proved too much to overcome.

The Lakers will look to regroup as they move forward in conference play. Finger Lakes sits at 6-12 overall and 3-5 in the conference. They will look to bounce back on Sunday, February 2nd at 3 PM on the road against Fulton-Montgomery Community College.
