Archie's Career-High 30 Points Propels Generals Over Genesee

The Herkimer Generals Women's Basketball team secured a commanding 71-47 victory over the Genesee Cougars on Saturday afternoon. From the opening tip, the Generals controlled the game with aggressive defense and efficient scoring.

Herkimer set the tone early, racing out to a 22-5 lead in the first quarter. Freshman guard Kavashia Archie (Utica, NY) delivered a standout performance, leading all scorers with 30 points on an impressive 14-of-18 shooting. Archie also contributed seven rebounds and four assists.

Sophomore Sage Geisler (Queens, NY) added 11 points, including two three-pointers, and dished out a team-high eight assists. Sophomore Kerisa Van Olst (Salisbury Center, NY) provided valuable long-range shooting, connecting on four three-pointers to finish with 12 points.

The Generals maintained their momentum throughout the game, particularly on the boards, where sophomore Imani McNeil (Colonie, NY) grabbed nine rebounds. Herkimer's defense was relentless, forcing Genesee into 22 turnovers and limiting them to just 32.8% shooting from the field.

Genesee's Jaelyn Morris and Sloan Jonathan each scored 13 points to lead the Cougars, but their efforts weren't enough to overcome Herkimer's balanced attack.
