SUNY Niagara opens season with two wins

SUNY Niagara kicked off the 2024-25 campaign with a pair of convincing victories at this past weekend's Erie Community College Tip-Off Classic. The No. 20 Thunderwolves are 2-0 overall as they head to Allegany College of Maryland for the annual Personal Best Classic (Nov. 8-10). 

No. 20 SUNY Niagara 102, Genesee CC 21

Freshman Ava Bull had a game-high 17 points and eight rebounds as the T-Wolves secured the season-opening victory. Sophomore Rachel Kamrowski finished with 16 points, freshman Mackenzie Owens notched 14 points and five rebounds and freshman Isabella Karabetsos stuffed the stat sheet with 10 points, six assists and five steals. The Wolfpack forced 42 turnovers and secured 32 offensive rebounds in the win.

No. 20 SUNY Niagara 87, CCAC Allegheny 42

The Wolves shot a blistering 48 percent from the field and assisted on 28 of their 33 made field goals in the win. Owens led the way with 15 points and five rebounds, sophomore Krystal Smith contributed 11 points, seven assists and six boards, Karabetsos totaled 10 points and seven assists and Kamrowski chipped in with 10 points. SUNY Niagara forced 26 turnovers and built up a 42-13 halftime lead.
