Softball Splits Home Conference Matchup

CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. - Finger Lakes softball opened up their Thursday morning hosting the Genesee Community College Cougars for their home contest due to field conditions.

The Lakers took game one 8-0 in five-innings before dropping game two, 5-4. Madison Anderson earned the win in game one, pitching all five innings and allowing 3 hits and no earned runs. Jenna Tyczynski led the way with 2 RBIs, while Emma JohnsonAnna KurtzhaltsDevon DeanCameron Crawfordand Brazen Beckwith all tallied hits.

In game two, Finger Lakes would take an early 4-0 before Genesee put 4 runs on the board in the bottom of the 4th inning. Genesee would bring the winning run across the plate in the 5th inning before holding Finger Lakes scoreless through the final two frames. Emma Johnson tallied 2 hits and an RBI, while Gia Bills and Anna Kurtzhalts added RBIs.

The Lakers return to campus for a four-game homestand on Thursday, April 10th against SUNY Jefferson Community College at 3 PM.
