Cannoneers Lose a Nail-Biter to the Cougars

The Cannoneers would host Genesee CC men's basketball team on Thursday night and lose a close battle at the end 75-73.  The game would be close throughout as the Cannoneers would take a lead into halftime of this game by 3 points.  The second half would be much the same with neither team gaining much advantage.  with 13 seconds left Genesee would score to take the lead 75-73.  The Cannoneers would bring the ball up the court, take a time out and run the inbounds play to perfection only to get fouled with .3 of 1.0 second left and have the chance to tie the game with 2 free throws, only to miss the first and try to miss the second, in which happened and the Cannoneers couldn't get the tip in as the final buzzer sounded.

Leading the way for the Cannoneers was Jeremiah Smith with 17 points/ 4 rebounds/4 assists.  Follow Jeremiah in the scoring column was Ikechukwu Ezike Jr. with 13 pts/ 10 rebounds and Kristan Lewis with 12 points/6 rebounds.  It was solid team effort, only to see the Cannoneers come out on the short end of the score.
