Genesee Softball Releases 2019 Schedule

BATAVIA, NY…  Head Coach Taylor Maurer has announced the 2019 Genesee Community College Cougars softball schedule.

“We are excited about the upcoming season, and look forward to a successful spring”, comments Head Coach Taylor Maurer, who will be entering her fourth season leading the Cougars. “The coaching staff is confident that the hard work our athletes are putting into the offseason will pay off with a competitive year”, Maurer added. “We have a great combination of players, with six returners that will add not only skill, but experience, and several talented incoming freshmen.”

The season gets underway with Spring Training in March. Regional play will begin on March 27 as Onondaga Community Colleges travels to Batavia for the home opener.

The month of April is jam-packed with both regional and conference games with a total of five doubleheaders taking place on Genesee’s home field. The home schedule will include games against Jefferson CC (April 11), Erie Community College (April 13), SUNY Broome (April 14), Herkimer College (April 20), and Tompkins Cortland CC (April 27). Road games will see the Cougars travel to Mercyhurst NE (April 3), Finger Lakes CC (April 4), Niagara County CC (April 16), Monroe CC (April 18), Corning CC (April 23), and Hudson Valley CC on April 28. The final home game of the regular season will be on May 4 vs Cayuga CC.

Postseason play will begin on Tuesday, May 14 with the Sub Regional games with the Region III Final Four taking place the weekend of May 17-18 at Corning Community College.  If successful, the Cougars would then travel to Rochester, Minnesota for the NJCAA National Tournament
