Genesee's Melo Commits to Cincinnati Christian University

BATAVIA, NY…  Genesee men’s soccer player Philip Melo committed to play soccer and continue his education at Cincinnati Christian University (CCU) in the fall. Melo joins fellow Cougar Leo Anthony at CCU.   

The Sorocaba, Brazil native will be continuing his collegiate career at NAIA Division I Cincinnati Christian University in Ohio. Over his two years at Genesee, Melo played in 44 games wearing the blue and gold, starting in 37 of those matches. He scored a total of 15 goals, two of which were game winners. Melo joins a young Eagles program that went 5-11 in 2018.

Melo was a part of the Cougars’ 2017 NJCAA Division II Men’s Soccer National Championship team and this past season, reached the NJCAA Division II Men’s Soccer National Semifinals.
