Genesee Baseball Announces 2019 Schedule

BATAVIA, NY…  Head Coach Skip Sherman has announced the 2019 Genesee Community College Cougars baseball schedule.

“We are excited about the upcoming season, and look forward to a successful spring”, comments Head Coach Skip Sherman, who will be entering his sixteenth season leading the Cougars.  

The season gets underway with Spring Training in March down in Florida. The 2019 official season opener will be the weekend of March 16-17 as they travel to Maryland to play CCBC Dundalk on Saturday March 16, and then travel to Frederick CC on March 17.  Region 3 and Western New York Athletic Conference play will begin on Thursday March 21 as they travel to Rochester and face the Monroe Community College Tribunes. The Cougars will again travel to MCC just three days later and will wrap up the month as they play Niagara County Community College on March 31 at Sal Maglie Stadium in Niagara Falls, NY.

The month of April is jam-packed with both regional and conference games with a total of nine doubleheaders taking place on Genesee’s home field. Home games includes Corning Community College (April 2), Alfred State College JV (April 7), Finger Lakes CC (April 11), Jamestown CC (April 13), Erie CC (April 18), Niagara County CC (April 20), Tompkins-Cortland CC (April 23), SUNY Broome (April 28), and Onondaga CC (April 30).

Road games include stops at Corning, Cayuga, Finger Lakes, Jamestown, Erie, Tompkins-Cortland, Ithaca College JV, SUNY Brome and Onondaga.

Postseason play will begin the weekend of May 11-12 with the Sub Regional games with the Region III Final Four taking place the weekend of May 17-19 at Herkimer College.  If successful, the Cougars would then travel to Greensville, Tennessee for the NJCAA Division III World Series.
