The Genesee Community College volleyball team swept host Niagara County Community College 3-0 in Sanborn, Oct. 16.

The win gives Genesee a 14-7 overall National Junior College Athletic Association record as the team prepares for this weekend's Western New York Athletic Conference Tournament in Jamestown.

Of the last nine wins, all have come by winning three consecutive sets. Eight were sweeps with the other being an impressive rally of three-straight set wins after trailing 0-2.

Against the Thunderwolves, three Cougars were in the top-two in two categories by either leading the team in various categories or finishing second in helping Genesee win in consecutive sets, 25-22, 25-20 and 25-20.

Ana Carolina Cerezer Pinto led the team in kills with 10, and finished second in aces with two. Lyndsey Rowland had a team-high four blocks (one solo) and seven kills, while Grace Zandrowicz was second in blocks with three and second in digs with 11.
