The upcoming 2016 GCC volleyball schedule includes 13 regular season dates with four coming at home this fall, the second straight season for the Cougars at the Division III level.
Genesee begins the year with back-to-back road dates, a single match at Erie CC on Sept. 8 and a POD tournament at Monroe CC on Sept. 10 before hosting Jamestown CC in its home opener on Sept. 13. The Cougars will travel to compete in the Jefferson CC POD tournament on Sept. 17 and return home on Sept. 22, hosting Monroe CC in a single match. The Jamestown CC POD tournament will follow on Sept. 24 before GCC ends the month with a single match at home against Mercyhurst North East on Sept. 29.
October begins with a home POD tournament on the 1st before Genesee ends the regular season with five consecutive road dates, at Onondaga CC (Oct. 7 & 8), Niagara County CC (Oct. 11), Finger Lakes CC (Oct. 13) and SUNY Broome CC (Oct. 15).
The playoff schedule begins on Oct. 22 with the WNYAC Tournament at Erie CC before the Region III Tournament, which is scheduled to begin on Oct. 26 with a sub-regional round. The finals are set for Oct. 29 & 30 at Niagara County CC and the NJCAA National Tournament will run from Nov. 11-12 in Rochester, MN.
Genesee finished runner-up in both the WNYAC and Region III standings in 2015. The Cougars ended the season with a 34-9-2 overall record.
