No. 6 Women’s Soccer Team Records Seventh Shutout Win

The Genesee Community College women's soccer team recorded its seventh shutout of the season with a 6-0 road win at Cayuga Community College Sept. 30.

Genesee relied on a balanced attack with three first-half goals and three in the second half.  Overall, 10 Cougars found the scoresheet with the top point-getter being Katline Cartwright  with a pair of goals that included the game winner for a four-point outing.

Leah Czechowski added three points from one goal and one assist, while Miko Yamashita had a pair of assists as the only other Cougars in on multiple goals.

Molly Reyngoudt gave Genesee some breathing room with a timely goal in the final minute of the first half. Autumn Jeffery and Bri Heers rounded out the scoring for the Cougars.

Other assists came from Diante Scheepers, Ryley O'Mara, Allison Becker and Maggie Dabb.

The Cougars peppered the Spartan net with 41 shots.

Genesee returns home to face Herkimer Oct. 6 at 1 p.m.
