The No. 2 Genesee Community College women's soccer team bested North Country Community College 3-0, Oct. 14 to improve its record to 11-2-1 on the season.

Of those 11 wins, nine have produced clean sheets that include shutout wins in three of the team's last four starts over Jamestown Community College, Finger Lakes Community College and now North Country.

Katline Cartwright had the team's first two goals against the Saints including the game winner.

Miko Yamashita assisted on the game winner, while three other Cougars also recorded helpers in the win. Sara Zakes, Rachel Ladd and Molly Reyngoudt all earned assists, while Jaclyn Guzdek recorded four saves.

The Cougars out-shot the Saints 20-4 and held the edge in corner kicks, 13-1.

Genesee concludes a three-game road trip against Clinton Community College, Oct 15 with an 11 a.m. start.
