Women's Soccer Announces First Signings for 2017 Recruiting Class

The Genesee Community College women's soccer program kicked off its recruiting efforts for the 2017 season by announcing a pair of signings of local high school seniors. Committing to the Cougars for next fall were Leah Czechowski (Akron) and Hailey Laude (Pembroke).

Czechowski joins GCC as a forward after a successful career at Akron High School where she garnered all-league honors. Also an all-league member of the track and field team, Leah will study Physical Education at Genesee.

Laude, also a forward, played for Pembroke High School and earned honorable mention all-league honors. She will study either Athletic Training or Nursing at GCC.

Genesee played to a 12-6 record in 2016, including a trip to the Region III quarterfinals. The Cougars were ranked as high as No. 3 in the NJCAA National Poll, which they were a part of four seven consecutive weeks.
