Cougars Fall to No. 13 Monroe

The Genesee Community College women's basketball team is still in search of its first conference win after Monroe CC dropped the Cougars 117-56 in a Western New York Athletic Conference (WNYAC) tilt on Wednesday night at GCC.

The No. 13 nationally ranked Tribunes held Genesee to just two first quarter points and forced 20 first half turnovers to take control of the game.

Genesee committed a total of 26 turnovers in the game, but saw three out of its five starters reach double-figures in scoring. Rosalyn Sealey scored 10 of her 18 total points in the first half and also grabbed seven rebounds in the game. Brionna Blocker also totaled 18 points, and Norvonee Hall recorded a double-double with 11 rebounds and 10 points.

GCC drops to 7-13 overall with the loss and the Cougars are now 0-3 in WNYAC. Genesee will host Jamestown CC for its final game of a current four-game homestand on Saturday. Tip-off is scheduled for 1 p.m.
