The Genesee Community College swimming and diving teams are ready for a new season under new head coach Daniel Allen.

Allen spent the previous 13 years as either the head or associate head men's and women's coach at three other four-year colleges or universities that included Pace University, SUNY Buffalo State and Geneseo, and he hopes to bring similar success to Genesee as he did at those stops where his swimmers broke more than 150 collective school records.

Of the team's dozen swimmers, four are returnees and include Natalie Amico, Brandon Brown, Ryan Mahaney and Ferran Martinez.

The Cougars will compete in various meets during the months of November, December and January to prepare for February's Regionals to be held again at Monroe Community College Feb. 15-17.

Genesee has three road meets scheduled for November beginning Nov. 7 at Erie at 5 p.m. The Cougars will visit two more venues in December and have four road stops in January before hosting their lone home event Feb. 2 with the Genesee Sprint Invitational at 1 p.m. as a final tune-up for regional competition.

The NJCAA Swimming and Diving Nationals return to Buffalo as Erie will host from the Burt Flickinger Athletic Center March 6-9.
