No. 4 Men’s Soccer Team Records Seventh Shutout in Last Nine Starts

The No. 4 Genesee Community College men's soccer team continued its fine defensive play with its seventh shutout in the last nine starts with an 8-0 road win over Erie in Orchard Park Sept. 27.

During those seven shutout wins the team has out-scored its oppositions 59-0 with the last three games resulting in a combined 32-0 score.

Five Cougars recorded three points or more and the team was led by current National Junior College Athletic Association Men's Soccer D-III Player of the Week Rodrigo Albuquerque, who registered six points from a pair of goals and a pair of assists.

Robert Keogh added a pair of goals, while Hiago Barros de Souza and Ed Port contributed a goal and an assist each. Philip Melo had a team-high three helpers in the win.

Other Cougar goal scorers included Leo Anthony and Hijiri Sano, while Sam Hall rounded out the scoresheet with an assist.

Matthies Meyer got the start and split the shutout with Adrian Bergman with a combined three saves.

Genesee continues on the road with its next match against Cayuga Sept. 30 at 3 p.m.
