Genesee Community College men's soccer team forward Hijiri Sano took just three minutes to net two of his school record-tying five goals in leading the Cougars to a school record-breaking 21 in a shutout win over visiting Niagara County Community College Sept. 13.

Sano's five goals came in less than a 30-minute span with first coming just 90 seconds into the contest. The freshman also finished with one assist for the National Junior Collegiate Athletic Association's seventh-ranked team.

Not far from Sano's 11-point output was current NJCAA D-III Player of the Week's Ryan Price, who registered three goals and three assists. Price is also this week's NJCAA Region III Male Athlete of the Week.

Benjamin Seaton also had three goals with a pair of helpers for an eight-point night and led the Cougars in shots with 10 of his team's 63.

The only other Cougars with multi-goal performances were Glenn Holmes and Adam Price with a pair apiece.

Four Cougars had multi-point games that included Charlie Livesey (four points), Matheus Araujo (three points), Tate Dean (three points), and Leo Anthony (two points).

Rounding out the goal scoring was Philip Melo, Narhum Nivillac and Iyad Lablack; while Luke Bayliss, Joseph Calvert and Sam Hall all added helpers.

Although current NJCAA D-III Goalie of the Week David Ormiston split time with Gaurav Cheema in the cage against NCCC, he still extended his shutout streak to 225 minutes and hasn't allowed a goal since a double-overtime loss to the then-No. 2 ranked team.

The Cougars will have a chance to move up in the national polls with a victory in their next contest against current No. 4 Montgomery College of Maryland. The Cougars will host the Raptors with a 6 p.m. start and the game will be streamed online from the Richard C. Call Arena Press Box at the following link: http://www.ustream.tv/channel/59y5DKH5kFN
