GCC defender Gabriel Tonon-Rodrigues (Soroaba, Brazil) recently signed a National Letter of Intent to join the men's soccer program at King University (TN) beginning in the fall.

Tonon-Rodriguez logged time in 17 games in 2016 and made three starts, scoring one goal and helping the Genesee defense limit opponents to 0.78 goals per game. During his two years at GCC, Gabriel played in 24 games, starting six, and totaled three points.

King University is a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II member school and competes in the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) and the Conference Carolinas. The Tornado played to a 7-11 record in 2016 and advanced to the conference tournament quarterfinals.

Tonon-Rodrigues will receive athletic scholarship to attend King University and will study Business.
