Genesee Defense Holds Jefferson CC Scoreless

The No. 3 nationally-ranked GCC men's soccer team remained unbeaten this fall after a 2-0 win over visiting Jefferson CC on Saturday afternoon.

In a game where Genesee outshot its opponent 33-4, the Cougars were held scoreless until the 52nd minute of the game.

Ryan Price scored the contest's first goal just under seven minutes into the second half off an assist by William Stone to put GCC in front.

Stone made it 2-0 just into the 58th minute with his 11th goal of the year. Rafael Godoi was credited with the assist.

David Ormiston turned aside the only shot he saw, as the Genesee defense stood strong throughout the afternoon. The win is GCC's fourth shutout this season.

Genesee (6-0-2) will begin a two-game road trip on Sept. 29 when the Cougars travel to Erie CC for a 5 p.m. start.
