CORNING, NY… The 2019-2020 season was officially underway Saturday as the men's basketball team participated in the Corning Crossover Classic and won their first two games of the season over the weekend. The Blue and Gold won their first game of the season against the host Red Barons 80-70. They followed that performance with a 93-59 win over SUNY Broome Sunday afternoon in the second game of the Crossover Classic.

Against Corning on Saturday, Genesee had five players in double-digits including Legacy Wallace with a team-high 19 points and dished out three assists. Jalen Willis scored 16 points with Brandon Speller scoring 15, and Isaiah Clemons scoring 14 points with four assists and four steals. Sophomore Souleymane Gueye recorded a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.

Sunday afternoon, Genesee defeated SUNY Broome 93-59. Isaiah Clemons had a team-high 17 points. Jalen Willis had 16 points, with Dylan Magloire, Souleymane Gueye, and Brandon Speller all scoring in double-digits. Jean Aristil had 14 rebounds

Genesee looks to continue their strong start in their home opener Tuesday night against Jefferson Community College at 7pm. The game will be streamed live on www.geneseeathletics.com
