Cougars Drop Rematch to Tribunes

ROCHESTER, NY… The Genesee Community College men's basketball team has a season split with the Monroe Community College Tribunes as the Tribunes earned a 69-56 victory Saturday afternoon. The Cougars record moves to 12-12 on the season with a 3-5 record in conference play.

Jarett Haines scored a team-high 23 points for the second consecutive game. Brandon Speller scored eight points. Jamir Cheek scored six points and collected six rebounds to go with his team-high three assists. The Cougars cut the Tribunes lead to single digits late in the second half, but Monroe hit a big three-point shot to restore their double-digit lead and went on to score the win.

Genesee is back in action on Sunday afternoon at 1:00 pm as they welcome the Bryant & Stratton College Bobcats from Buffalo to Batavia. The Cougars return to conference action on Wednesday night at 7:30 pm as they host the Jamestown Community College Jayhawks. Both games will be streamed live on www.geneseeathletics.com
