Genesee Stays Perfect to Start Home Schedule

The Genesee Community College Men's Basketball team continued its winning ways to stay perfect on the season (6-0) after defeating the Howard Community College Dragons 82-56 on Sunday afternoon.

The Cougars had strong play from freshman guard Kevin Major off the bench, as Major had a game-high 25 points, including shooting 50% from behind the arch (5-10). Major scored 10 of his game-high 25 in the opening half of action. Sophomore Jarrett Haines scored 18 points, and Jamir Cheek made his home debut a memorable one, contributing a double-double with 16 points and 17 rebounds.

As a team, Genesee shot 41% from the field and went 8-11 from the charity stripe. The Cougars also had strong contributions from Javin Williams and Jesse Parrilla, who scored 10 and 11 points respectively.

Genesee returns home on December 5th as it hosts Bryant & Stratton College of Syracuse at 7 pm. The game will also be streamed live on geneseeathletics.com
