The Genesee Community College men's basketball team begins play with a road matchup against Corning at Jamestown Nov. 3 at 1 p.m.

It's one of 30 scheduled games for the 2018-19 season and one of seven in November. The Cougars' home-opener is Nov. 18 against Howard Community College at 2 p.m.

The months of December and January bring a flood of home games where the Cougars host oppositions eight times, highlighted by the annual Cougar Classic Dec. 8-9.

Western New York Athletic Conference play begins Jan. 23 at Erie. Genesee completed its season in the Region-III playoffs with a heartbreaking 83-80 loss to region champion Erie.

The Cougars finished last season with just a nine-man roster, and from it two returnees join a much bigger squad at 15.

Returners Jarett Haines and Javin Williams bring experience with Haines having the better season of the two last year averaging almost 24 minutes-per-game with an average of 9.5 points and 2.7 rebounds.

The Cougars went 19-10 overall last year and with a new talented group they look to capture the regional playoffs and the opportunity to make a national bid.
