Gary Mannella is a 1974 graduate of Cortland State University, earning a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Health Science. He then earned a Masters of Science Degree from Buffalo State College in 1987. Coach Mannella retired from the Albion Central School District after a 35 year career teaching general science and biology. He coached JV Football for 34 years; serving as the Head JV Football Coach for 30 years, compiling a record of 205 wins, 30 losses and 5 ties. Coach Mannella also served as the JV Baseball coach for 13 years. In 1990, he was appointed as the Head Varsity Baseball Coach where he held that position through the 2010 season. During his 21 year tenure, the Albion Varsity Baseball Team won 13 Niagara-Orleans League Championships; 4 Sectional Championships; 3 Far West Regional appearances-winning the Far West Regional in 1999 and 1 New York State Final Four appearance. Coach Mannella registered 248 wins and 40 losses in the Niagara- Orleans League. He completed his scholastic baseball coaching career with an overall record of 338 wins and 76 losses. In 2011 Coach Mannella was awarded the Niagara -Orleans Athletic League Foundation Award. He brings 38 years of coaching experience to the Cougar Baseball Program where he begins his fourth season.
