The Hudson Valley Community College women's soccer team dropped their second consecutive match, following their 2-0 start to the 2021 season, on Sunday afternoon to nationally recognized Genesee program in Batavia, NY.

The Vikings fell behind early on a successful corner kick by the Cougars and eventually went into the halftime break trailing 3-0. Following the break, Genesee scored two more times in the first 30 minutes of the second half, extending their lead to 5-0.

At the 81:53 mark, the Vikings put one on the board as Mikayla Bechtel recorded her third goal of the season. Bechtel collected a cross in the box and beat the defenders and the Cougars keeper for the score.

The women's soccer program is back in action on Wednesday, September 22 as they travel to take on nationally ranked Herkimer in Herkimer, NY. The game is set to begin at 4:30 p.m., and will be followed by the men's game at 7 p.m.
