Andrew "Drew" Crofts was named the assistant director of athletics in August, 2017. Previously, he served as the sports information director for Genesee’s Athletics programs, a role he held since the fall of 2011.
In his current capacity, Crofts is responsible for student athlete eligibility, facilities managment, team travel, home event management, and other responsibilities that assist in the day-to-day operations of the athletics department.
As SID, he was responsible for all aspects of athletic communications for the College, including social media, print, website managment and nominations on behalf of GCC Athletics. Crofts also served as the assistant men’s basketball coach during the 2012-2014 seasons, and has coached football and baseball at the high school level in the local community.
Crofts has covered sports for WBSU-FM in Brockport and as an intern at 13WHAM Television in Rochester. His experience includes reporting on the Buffalo Bills, Buffalo Sabres, Rochester Red Wings, as well as many local college and high school teams. Andrew also served as a play by play announcer for WBSU Radio, calling Brockport College football, basketball and baseball. He was twice named a national finalist for "Best Sports Play by Play," presented by Collegiate Broadcasters, Inc. He was also ranked in the top ten of collegiate sportscasters according to Sportscasters Talent Agency of America in 2009.
Crofts' education includes a year of undergraduate work at Genesee Community College starting in the fall of 2005. He then moved on to The College at Brockport in the fall of 2006, and earned a bachelor's degree in Broadcasting Communications in the spring of 2009 while on the National Honor Society. He also holds a master's degree in Sports Management from American Public University.
