Genesee Athletes Named to Academic All-Region Team

BATAVIA, NY- Student-athletes from 7 of the Intercollegiate Athletic programs at Genesee Community College have been named to the NJCAA Region III Academic All-Region team.  All honorees earned at least a 3.50 GPA and a minimum of 25 credit hours during the 2023-24 academic school year and participated in at least one season of a sport.

The Genesee Baseball team had seven student-athletes named to the Academic All-Region team; Anthony Brotz, Cody Costello, Ryota Haga, Rion Kojima, Terence Kurtz, Quinten Rigters & Thomas Watterson.

Men’s Soccer had eight student-athletes named to the Academic All-Region team; Taylor Beardsworth-March, Felipe Bueno, Obie Casson, Fernando Konig, Eduardo Leiva, Gabriel Rocha, Sonny Simpson, & Manuel Toscano.

Men’s Lacrosse had three student-athletes named to the Academic All-Region team; Reagan Alexander, & Griffin Utz.

For Women’s Soccer, six student-athletes named to the Academic All-Region team; Cydney Brandl, Elizabeth Clark, Grace Devine, Tatum Gagne, Ruby Hoyt, & Sara Kingdollar.

Women’s Lacrosse had five student-athletes named to the Academic All-Region team; Grace Devine, Elena Azzi, Elizabeth Clark, Sara Kingdollar, Asuka Yatabe.

Women’s Volleyball had two student-athletes named to the Academic All-Region team; Elena Azzi & Allison Dent.

Women’s Basketball had two student-athletes named to the Academic All-Region team; Tatum Gagne & Yumika Takeda.

Women’s Swim & Dive had one student-athlete named to the Academic All-Region team; Grace Gregoire.

Out of these sports & student athlete’s, five obtained had Academic All-Region in two sports; Elena Azzi (W Volleyball, W Lacrosse); Elizabeth Clark (W Lacrosse, W Soccer); Grace Devine (W Lacrosse, W Soccer); Tatum Gagne (W Basketball, W Soccer); Sara Kingdollar (W Lacrosse, W Soccer).
