BATAVIA, NY… Student-athletes from all 13 Intercollegiate Athletic programs at Genesee Community College have been named to the NJCAA Region III Academic All-Region team. All honorees earned at least a 3.50 GPA and a minimum of 25 credit hours during the 2018-19 academic school year and participated in at least one season of a sport.
The Genesee baseball team had two members be named to the Academic All-Region team; Jayson and John Faynor. The golf team also had two members be named, Brandon Kowalski and Matthew McCoy. Colin Tolsma from men’s lacrosse and Osasuyi Obadiaru from men’s basketball were also named to the Academic All-Region team. The men’s soccer program had five members on the Academic team including Hiago Barros De Souza, Jack Sharman-Dodd, Jose Manual Cavalini, Rodrigo Alburquerque, and Ross White.
Genesee women’s lacrosse players Ashley Barclay, Hannah Kirisits, Lauren Hull, Allison Becker, Diante Scheepers, Julia Karabina, and Mackenzie O’Brien. Becker, Scheepers, and O’Brien were also named Academic All-Region for women’s soccer as well as soccer and basketball player Michaela Curletta. Women’s volleyball players Ana Carolina Cerezer Pinto and Alexis Eighmey were named to the Academic All-Region team as was Brittni Way, Carli Marino, and Maki Iwami from softball.
Members of the swimming and diving team that were named to the Academic All-Region team includes Elizabeth Richardson, Natalie Amico, Ana Carolina Cerezer Pinto, Ethan Heim and Ryan Mahaney.
