Both the men's and women's soccer teams of Genesee Community College found their way to the National Junior College Athletic Association's preseason polls released Aug. 15.
The defending NJCAA D-III national champion GCC men's team is ranked No. 1, while the GCC women's team received votes in the national preseason poll.
Only the GCC women's team reached No. 1 in the nation last year in a NJCAA poll in October, while the men's team got as high as No. 3 in several polls last season.
The first poll of the regular season is due out in the first week of September after the Labor Day holiday.
